The Professional Mediator’s Association is once again running the National Mediation Awards to celebrate and reward success in all aspects of workplace, employment, business and consumer mediation. The Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday the 25th September 2014 in London. There are 8 different awards to recognise good practice and hard work. Seven of these you can nominate people for, the eighth is chosen by the PMA president from all of the entries received. Each week we will highlight one of the following awards:
- Best Newcomer to Mediation (for in-house mediation schemes less than 12 months old)
- Mediation Scheme of the Year (for established in-house mediation schemes over 12 months
- Mediation Scheme Co-ordinator of the Year
- In house mediator of the year
- Independent mediator of the year
- Mediation Champion of the year
- Innovation award for On line Dispute Resolution
- President’s Award for overall mediation best practice-chosen by PMA President
Today, the spotlight is on the award for Mediation Champion of the Year
This award is for people who have raised the profile of mediation in some way. We all know that conflict and disputes costs people time, money and relationships and by broadening the reach of mediation into organisations, businesses and communities, we can resolve conflicts and disputes more swiftly and effectively. Tell us how you use mediation in your day to day work? How have you made mediation a more accessible and acceptable form of conflict resolution? Perhaps you have taken an innovative approach to supporting your fellow mediators or those in training. Help us to reward those who are moving mediation into the mainstream and make a nomination today.

* How do you support or encourage other mediators?
* How and where do you use mediation skills in your day to day work?
